5/7/2023 0 Comments Twitch drifting lands![]() I think for them to do something new and interesting it’d have to be something like Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon. It’s technically being played by Twitch users but it’s not what you’d think of when someone says Twitch plays. It ends up being a small group, a modified version of the game, etc. ![]() Meanwhile anything that is obviously unrealistic, like Dark Souls, just gets chipped away at until it stops being Twitch plays. That’s fun when you’re into the story but it doesn’t really provide the material for a Twitch plays campaign to be interesting. Most JRPGs just sort of have a line of checkpoints until you reach the end. Pokemon at least had trying to capture and train different Pokemon to keep it interesting. Pokemon sort of proved the point that anything turn based is just a matter of time. The problem is I feel like anything achievable isn’t particularly interesting. Question is: would you start with Fallout 3, jump straight to Fallout 4, or pick New Vegas in between? Any of them would be interesting. The directional inputs alone would be a nightmare, and you’d have to think they would pick up every side quest imaginable. You wouldn’t advocate Fallout for the mechanical difficulty, but the manner in which Twitch Plays likes to create new religions and form factions would make the decision making fascinating. Twitch Plays Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas/Fallout 4 What do they move onto then? Here are some ideas. ![]() ![]() Let’s say Twitch beats Dark Souls once and for all, despite the insurmountable odds and the frustrations surrounding whether it’s OK for them to pause or not. With Twitch Plays Dark Souls creeping closer towards the death of the second boss, the thought of the un-coordinated mess that is Twitch Plays Anything beating something as punishing as Dark Souls is becoming more and more a possibility. ![]()
